THINKING OF BECOMING A VOLUNTEER DRIVER?

Living in a rural community such as Coltishall can cause many problems for the elderly for example trying to meet hospital appointments or even attending events such as the weekly luncheon club in the village.

I suspect many would be volunteers are put off by the insurance and health and safety considerations.

But there is help out there. East Norfolk Rural Transport Partnership and West Norfolk and Breckland Rural Transport Partnership have produced a handbook titled Handbook for Community Car Drivers – What you need to know before starting as a Volunteer Driver

Copies are available from Norfolk Rural County Council offices at, Ambassador Way Greens Road, Dereham Tel:  01362 698216 email nrcc@norfolkrcc.org.uk
