ABLE COMMUNITYCARE - CHARITY COOKBOOK

Able Community Care, a Norfolk home care company, which has been established since 1980 and has provided over 43 million hours of care in Great Britain, is celebrating its 30th anniversary.   During its 30 years many of its carers sent in recipes and this led to the idea of publishing a simple, cookery book which we could photocopy, staple and sell with the proceeds going to charity.

The idea then grew that we could make it into a much more identifiable Norfolk book by seeking out people who were well known and had an association of some sort with theCounty.

Able staff researched, sent off letters and the result is a professionally published, cookery book of over 100 recipes.   Recipes from Stephen Fry, Sir Michael Caine (evacuated here during the war), Joan Collins, (her Father was born here), Nicholas Parsons, (Sale of theCentury), Prunella Scales (association with the Norwich Playhouse), Frederick Forsyth, (EDP Journalist at one time) and many more.

The profits are being divided between two Norfolk charities, Age UK Norfolk and Connects & Co, which is a charity which supports young carers in the County.

The book can be purchased for £8.00 inc P&P online at www.uk-care.com/abletocook.html or for £6.00 from our offices in Trowse or from the many outlets in Norfolk who have kindly agreed to sell them.
